FIRST SKODA VAGONKA TRAIN ARRIVES IN KHARKIV
The first of two double-decker electric trains developed by Skoda Vagonka and bought by Pivdenna railways (Kharkiv) arrived in Kharkiv on Sunday. That the second Czech train will arrive in the middle of April.

First City Elefant emu for UZ on test at Velim

Škoda Vagonka will deliver five new multiple double deck units to Lithuanian Railways
Škoda Vagonka succeeded in a public tender and in July 2011 signed a contract worth app. 39 mil. eur with Lithuanian Railways (Lietuvos geležinkeliai) to deliver five new multiple electric units class 575, known as CityElefant. The new double deck units will be supplied in the 2012 – 2014 period and will extend the Lithuanian Railways' fleet of four existing CityElefants that passengers on the Vilnius-Kaunas link enjoy since 2008, where every unit on average runs 700 km a day.

New Low-Floor Pantographs by ŠKODA VAGONKA Will Head for Regions
Czech Railways have concluded two contracts with Škoda Vagonka, based on open assignment proceedings, for the supply of new single-floor pantographs, specifically fifteen three-carriage and four two-carriage units. The new trains will travel in the Usti, Pardubice, Hradec Kralove, Olomouc, and Southern Bohemia regions.

Slovakia Transport Company employs electric double deck units 671
The Ostrava based ŠKODA VAGONKA continues in the tradition of manufacturing passenger rail vehicles; its production program focuses on the production of electric units for suburban transport, motor sets, light regional vehicles and passenger trailer carriages.

ŠKODA VAGONKA enjoyed significant success on the Slovak market with its electric units for suburban transport. The Ostrava based company secured a contract with the Slovakia Transport Company two years ago for the delivery of 10 three-car two-system electric units line 671. These units are designed for the domestic municipal transport of passengers. This is a major change in the rolling stock of the Slovakia Railway Transport Company as instead of modernizing older passenger carriages, they opted for renewing the rolling stock.

Skoda wins Slovak push-pull orders
SLOVAKIA: National operator ZSSK has awarded Skoda Transportation the first export order for the 109E locomotive design which was unveiled last year. As well as two locomotives, the Czech firm will also supply 10 three-car double-deck push-pull trainsets and modernise 10 existing electric locomotives for Slovakia.

ŠKODA VAGONKA producing 10 commuter trains for Slovak customer for CZK 2.5 billion
PLZEŇ, OSTRAVA, January 15, 2009 – ŠKODA VAGONKA, a. s., intends to produce and supply 10 commuter trains for a customer in Slovakia, and the new double-decker electric train cars will improve mass rail transportation for passengers in the city regions of Trenčín, Žilina and Košice, under a contract worth a total of EUR 96.2 million, which is about CZK 2.5 billion.

Skoda to supply CityElefants to ZSSK
SLOVAKIA: Skoda Vagónka has been selected to supply national passenger operator ZSSK with 10 three-car double-deck EMUs to replace 1970s rolling stock on suburban and inter-regional services between Trencín, Zilina and Kosice. The €96·1m contract is expected to be signed later this month, and deliveries wil be completed within four years.

First EMU Class 575 for Lithuanian railways was on the way towards Plzeň
On 11 June 2008 at the lunchtime the first electric multiple unit of the new Class 575 leaved area of ŠKODA VAGONKA a.s. to pass out second part of testing at Plzeň and at the railway test circuit Cerhenice before it will be transported to Lithuania.

Change of business name
We inform you that as of 26. 03. 2008, and pursuant to the proceedings held at the Regional Court in Ostrava on the amendment of data entered in the Commercial Register, the following amendments were incorporated pertaining to the company ČKD VAGONKA, a.s.:
  • Amendment to the company’s trading name so that the new name of our company shall now be ŠKODA VAGONKA a.s.;
  • Amendment to the assigned post code, in consequence to the notification of the Czech Post Office a.s., so that the new post code now reads as 703 00.
The amendment to the trading name was executed primarily for reasons of distinctive and non-interchangeable identification of our company in relation to the parent company ŠKODA HOLDING a.s.
